A video made by German 3D visualization and visual effects firm, MackeVision, showing off some interesting renders on Porsche Mission E. It is a concept car which offers compact electric motors, no combustion engine, no exhaust system as well as no transmission tunnel. On top of that it definitely is a sports car.
The concept car is expected to able to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in less than 3.5 sec or from 0 to 200km/h in less than 12 sec. It is also expected that it can achieve maximum speed of more than 250km/h. On top of that it should be able to travel up to 300 miles range in a single charge.
From the video, it can be seen that the concept car is using a similar battery infrastructure as Tesla Model S where each motor is installed on each axle with the battery pack extending flat between them. Therefore using this arrangement, it will create low centre of gravity and more cargo space.
Based on the video, it is also shown that the car will be using wireless induction charging method. This method is difficult to implement as of now due to the complexity of the equipment installation in the car as well as outside the car, not to mention the energy loss and low charge rate. Hopefully, by the time the concept car is released to the public, which might take years to build, these issues would be solved by then.
