Wolfgang Durheimer, Bentley’s CEO, revealed that the company was exploring two new options for the next car model after the launch of Bentayga SUV. One option is that the new car model will be having the same specifications as Bentayga but with an even more performance-enhanced version. Imagine a Bentayga with lower roof and more power as well as sharper chassis.
Another option is the production version of Speed 6 sports car which the concept car was revealed at Geneva recently. As the concept car received good response from the customer thus Bentley wants to make it into a reality.
Bentley’s next car model would likely to have an all-electric power train, a power output of 400 to 500bhp and it might look like a two-seat sports car. It would borrow the technology from Porsche’s ‘Mission E’ electric concept with electric motors on front and rear axles which is able to travel up to 300 miles in a single charge. On top of that, it would take a shorter time to recharge the battery.
There is also a possibility that the new car model will support hybrid technology too.
Bentley’s Speed 6, if it is approved to go into production will be smaller and cheaper than Continental. Prices start at around £120,000.
