New Technologies Found in Mercedes Benz 2017 E-Class Series

series might have the simplest exterior appearance than other Mercedes-Benz lineup. However, there are a lot of new safety features and perhaps semi-autonomous features which are installed in the car model.

The highlight of the car’s feature is the semi-autonomous ‘DRIVE PILOT’ safety feature which similar as Tesla’s Autopilot but safer. It is able to keep the car within the lanes even when the lane marking is not clear or not exist. For the clear lane, the speed can go up to 130mph whereas for unclear or nonexistence lanes, the speed can only go up to 81mph. On top of that, there is an ‘Active Lane-Change Assist’ which will assist drivers whenever they want to change lanes.

The car is also installed with ‘Evasive Steering Assist’, therefore, when the car detects that it is about to collide with another car, it will assist by adding exact calculated amount of additional effort to avoid the collision. If a collision is unavoidable, it will emit the sound inside the car to help reduce hearing loss of the driver and the passengers.

Apart from the features above, the car is also designed to park itself with its ‘Remote Parking Pilot’ feature. Therefore, if the parking space is too tight for the driver to get into the car or out from the car, the driver can get out of the car and let it squeezes itself into the parking lot. All these are done remotely using a smartphone app.

The E-Class will be the first Mercedes car model which is installed with Car-to-X communication via Wi-Fi-based system. With this feature, the car will be able to communicate with not only E-Class but all new cars and eventually to other infrastructure which also support this communication feature.

For 2017 E-Class Mercedes Benz car model, the company will offer 64 different colours of interior ambient lighting which the potential car buyers able to choose from. It is pretty exciting, isn’t it?
