CarDroid promises to make your old car smarter. Sadly, it is based on Android OS only therefore iOS users may not be able to use it. It adds a lot of new features on your car. It is able to analyze the driver’s behaviour while on the road, receive emergency notifications, protect the car from theft, check vehicle data as well as save money on fuel and insurance company.
To use CarDroid is very simple. You just need to plug it into your car’s OBDII port and it will analyze the vehicle data as well as monitor the driver’s behaviour and send it to a personal cloud account. It also comes with GPS technology which will keep track the location of your car. The device also works with Wi-Fi in the event when you lost the GPS signal. Therefore, in case if there is accident happens, it will send alert to the other people and the other people just need to login into the cloud account and the person will know your last position before the accident happened so that he or she can do something about it. i.e. calling the ambulance.
CarDroid was looking for backers at the Kickstarter through crowd funding. Fortunately, they have found enough supporters as such the project was launched. The device was created by the people from UonMap. There is an invitation displayed on its Kickstarter page for the backers to come and visit their booth personally at CES2016 at Las Vegas, NV, USA. They will be there from 6 to 9 January 2016 at booth 80946, Eureka Park.
