Tesla CEO Elon Musk Uses Twitter to Look for Autopilot Software Engineers

is always looking new ways to do things. Recently he uses Twitter to look for new recruits for its autonomous vehicle programmes. He posted four tweets so far.

“We are looking for hardcore software engineers. No prior experience with cars required. Please include code sample or link to your work”

“Should mention that I will be interviewing people personally and Autopilot reports directly to me. This is a super high priority”

“Autopilot 1.01 coming soon: curve speed adaption, controller smoothness, better lane holding on poor roads, improved fleet learning!”

Autopilot feature on Tesla Model S which was enabled recently able to steer, switch lanes and manage its own speed automatically. It is done by using over-the-air software update to the car’s infotainment system. For the autopilot system to be able to work, it uses a combination of forward radar, forward-looking camera, 12 long-range ultrasonic sensors and fast processors.

Recently, there are videos uploaded on the internet on Tesla’s drivers who do not put their hands on the steering wheel and therefore it will danger the drivers’ own life. Tesla has already recommended drivers to put at least one of their hand on the steering wheel eventhough the autopilot feature was enabled. To this incident, Musk announcing that the company was looking for ways which will restrict the Autopilot feature as such it will be safer to the users and thus the requirement to hire new software engineers.
