A study conducted at the Connected Car Expo revealed a few interesting points. It is revealed that Android Auto and Apple CarPlay prices deserved to be equivalent with a couple of iPhones and three Android phones. On top of that, it is also found out that most car buyers will do research on the latest technologies available on cars before their next car purchase.
More than 77 percent of the people surveyed said that a vehicle with all the technology features that they desired was more important than the car colours. Wi-Fi and streaming music feature is becoming the next must-have feature apart from cruise control, diagnostic alerts and USB charging ports. Apparently General Motor movement to install Wi-Fi hotspot in their latest car model is doing a good job in getting customer to want such feature available in their car.
According to 53 percent of the people surveyed defines whether a car model belongs to luxury class or not based on the technology and infotainment features which are available on the car. About 44 percent of them willing to pay up to $1,499 for an in-vehicle concierge service such as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The number of percentage of people who want better smartphone integration increases to 57% from 48% which is the result of last year’s survey. About 39% prefer to use their smartphones for navigations instead of the navigation systems.
The survey was conducted in September 2015; by KS&R, Inc online from 1012 US vehicle owners who are planning to buy a new one.
