Tesla finally opens up a channel to purchase its Model X car model on its website. There are basically 3 configurations, 70D, 90D and P90D each with each own specifications. The entry level is the 70D model starting at $80,000 pricing, however, after deducting tax and gas-savings, the price is lowered down to $61,000.
Model X 70D, 90D and P90D will be offering 70 kWh with 220 miles range on EPA estimation, 90 kWh with 257 miles range on EPA and 90kWh Performance Battery with 250 miles range on EPA estimation respectively. As for the top speed, 70D offers 140mph while 90D and P90D offer 155mph each. The difference between the 90D and P90D is that P90D comes with Ludicrous mode which able to go from 0 to 60mph in just 3.2 seconds and includes Active Spoiler which claimed to reduce drag while improving aerodynamics.
Tesla also will be offering add-on extras which includes $750 towing package which capable of hauling 5000 pounds and the $1000 cold weather package which includes heated steering wheel, second- and third-row seat heaters and a few other comfort features as well.
The expected delivery will be sometime in 2016 depending on the models that you have purchased. As for the falcon wing door feature on Tesla car models might have to wait for awhile as Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, admitted that the company was having issue with the feature.
