Volkswagen Golf GTE Sport Offers Plug-in Hybrid with 395 Horsepower

borrows technologies from its peers. It has carbon fibre shell technology from Bugatti Veyron which also similar to Lamborghini Asterion as well as 295 horsepower 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine from its VW racing team. As a result, it is a handsome car with two electric motors which is able to produce up to 395 horsepower and able to do 0 to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds. It is also able to achieve 118 miles per gallon equivalent (mpge) and the most exciting thing is that it has gull-wing doors.

Volkswagen Studie Golf GTE Sport

GTE sport is designed to have three drive modes, E-mode, GTE-mode and Hybrid-mode. The mode is activated by clicking on roof-mounted switches like the ones they have on jet-fighter.

When E-Mode is activated, the car is able to go 31 miles on a single all-electric charge. When it is about to run out of electric power, the Hybrid-mode kicks in. The good thing about a hybrid type of car is that when it runs out of electric power, it switches to burn gasoline as the source of its power and thus the car able to go further. When GTE-Mode is activated, the car makes out some impressive figures, 395 horsepower, and 494 pound-feet of torque which is more torque than Corvette as well as 118-mpge efficiency rating and a top speed of 174 mph. Originally, it was offered as 295 horsepower.

Eventhough it seems like it is a good car, it is all still a concept car. Hopefully, we can see it being driven on the road soon.
