Lamborghini is known for its acceleration and looks since a long time ago. Not many people know that in 1998, Lamborghini was bought over by Audi. Therefore, since then, Lamborghini models are made to be all-wheel drive and they were reported to be much more manageable to drive.
The standard naming convention for Lamborghini is the horsepower number followed by number of drive wheels. Therefore for LP 580-2, it means that the car model will have 580 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque from 5.2-liter V10. Another difference of the model with the other models is that instead of distributing the power to all the four wheels, it delivers in a big lump at the rear wheels and thus the number “2” in the car model. As a result, it can go from 0 to 62mph in just 3.4 seconds and its top speed is 199mph.
Stephan Winkemann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, mentioned that the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 continued the Lamborghini tradition of pure, visionary and technology-driver models. The car model is considered to be a serious car for serious drivers and it offers maximum fun driving experience.
The one thing that the company brought over from LP 610-4 which is the previous version before LP 580-2 is the seven speed dual clutch suitable for drivers who prefers manual over automatic.
LP 580-2 will be priced at €150,000 plus tax in Europe whereas the pricing in United States has not been announced yet. According to Lamborghini, LP 580-2 is already available at their dealerships as of today.
