A few nights ago, Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk took the stage and began to talk about Tesla Model X. On the same night, he also unveiled the official pricing for Model X. The Signature Edition will be priced at $132,000 while the standard model will be priced at $93,000. Model X will be the last car that the company will release until Model 3 is released in 2017. Model 3 is supposed to be the budget electric vehicle with pricing started at $35,000.
In the same event, Musk also talked about the safety features of Model X. Apparently the car model has a five-star rating from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. With a half to battery pack installed at the centre of the car just below the car seats, there is a significantly reduced probability of rollover injury. On top of that, the car also comes with automatic emergency braking and side collision avoidance systems.
Model X also designed with a bioweapon defense which according to Musk when the filter was working, any viruses or spores which were coming into the cabin would not be detected at all as there is also a large HEPA filter system installed in the car to support the feature.
The Signature Model X come with a 90kWh battery which has 250 mile range. Model X P90D is able to go up to 155 mph and it is able to go from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds with its Ludicrous Mode while Model X 90D will only go from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds. On top of that, Model X will have two motors, in front is 259 horsepower while at the rear it is 503 horsepower.
