A study conducted from finance advice website NerdWallet about what public think about autonomous cars as it seems that they are going to be the main public transportation in the future. The result seems that there are going to be a lot of marketing need to be done to convince the public to own at least one of them.
The study is based on the result of online survey of 1028 people in the US with 52 percent female and 48 percent male. Among these 52 percent of female, 37 percent of them are reported to be interested in owning one while 50 percent of 48 percent of male is also interested in the vehicle. However, 55 percent of female is reported to worry about the safety of driverless car while 37 percent of male share the same thinking. On the bright side, only 49 percent of the people who did the survey were not interesting in owning one.
On top of that, according to the survey, 6 percent of the survey participants are willing to put a child in autonomous vehicle alone while 18 percent is still not sure about the idea of doing it. 44 percent of the male worries that once the autonomous vehicle will take away their pleasure in driving behind the wheel versus 23 percent of women share the worry.
It seems like most people will prefer to wait awhile before considering purchasing one.
