Toyota has announced about the redesigned body of 2016 Tacoma model in January. Recently, there are rumors that Toyota is cutting down the number of variants that the company offers for 2016 Tacoma car model as such the single cab Tacoma or the TRD Pro variant as well as the two-wheel drive manual version are no longer available. However, TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road versions are still available.
Despite of all this, there are still about 28 variants of Tacoma which will include the two or four wheel drive, short or long bed, access or full four-door cabs, and four or six cylinder engines. The entry level Tacoma which is the Access Cab SR 4×2 is equipped with six-speed automatic transmission and a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. It will be priced at $22,200 which is approximately $1,200 higher than the entry level 2015 Tacoma. The high-end level Tacoma which is the Limited is coming with a V6, four-wheel drive and will be priced at $39,375. These prices, unfortunately, does not include the destination and delivery cost. For 2015 models, the cost was an additional of $885.
The difference between 2016 Tacoma with 2015 Tacoma is that the 2016 Tacoma will come with a better rigidity, redesigned interior and exterior look, upgraded infotainment system, 3.5-liter V6, LED running lights, wireless phone charging pad as well as new safety features.
