Android Auto Car System from Parrot Plans to Sell to Automakers Instead to Public

RNB6 car system is an in-vehicle entertainment system which designed with safety in mind. Originally, it was meant for consumers to be able to buy it and integrate it easily with any vehicle that they own and it will work perfectly. However, it is not the case as it requires a deep integration with the car series and the manufacturers. Now, the company is looking to sell it to the automakers. Based on the most recent reports, it seems that it has already been chosen by several companies to be integrated with next year’s car models.

Parrot RNB6 was first showcased at CES Las Vegas in January 2015. It is a double DIN device with 55 watts per four channel output equipped with a 7-inch HD display which also supports capacitive touch and HDMI input for external video. On top of that, there is also internal storage for audio or video as well as inputs for satellite radio and support for FM/AM.

The device is designed to be able to display apps from your smartphone on the screen when the smartphone is plugged into it. On top of that, it is also able to capture and record audio automatically of the road ahead with the in-vehicle HDR/Full HD Camera. As for the pricing, there is no official announcement from Parrot. However, if we take a look at another device such as Pioneer’s NEX unit which has similar functionalities, it should be priced at least $800.
